FREE Community Pedestrian Safety Workshop

 

On the UC Berkeley Campus

Thursday, Sept. 15, from 4-8 pm
at the Tan Oak Room in the MLK Student Center on the UC Berkeley campus

• Do you walk in Berkeley?
• Are you concerned that drivers may not stop for you, your friends or your children?
• Do you want to learn how to make walking safe and accessible around campus and nearby?
• Then this FREE workshop is for you. . .

The purpose of the Community Pedestrian Safety Workshop is to improve safety and create a more pleasant walking experience in your community.

This workshop is for students, community members, seniors, people with disabilities, parents, teachers, and pedestrian safety advocates that want to develop strategies to promote a safer walking environment in Berkeley.

Transportation professionals are also invited. By the end of the workshop, you will have a basic understanding of how to set pedestrian safety priorities with a "next steps" plan to promote safe walking in Berkeley.

• Presentations by local experts
• Interactive sessions
• Group discussions
• Walking tour exploring the campus area and sidewalks from a pedestrian perspective
• Identification of community priorities
